Snowburst Winter Carnival – Saturday, February 8
Porcupine Mountains Winter Ski Complex
Don’t miss this family-friendly festival filled with activities for all ages. The festivities take place at the Porcupine Mountains Winter Ski Complex. Ski lifts will open at 9am EST, with games, activities and events for the entire family throughout the day.
Fun for Kids! — Children’s activities, including face painting, snowflake making and carnival games, will begin at 10:30am.
Activities All Day Long! — Activities include snowball Pitch plus Snowman and Snow Sculpture Creation. Photographers will be on hand in the afternoon to take pictures of you with your special creation.
Live Music! — Sit by the fire in the ski chalet and enjoy music by various artists.
Snowshoe Fun Run! — Run will begin at noon, with races for different age categories, including those 5 and under and 50 and older.
Wheelbarrow Races! — Race starts at 12:30pm.
Guided Snowshoe Hike! — Hike starts at 1pm.
Giant Slalom! — Registration for the Giant Slalom Race begins at noon, with the race taking place at 3pm. An awards presentation will immediately follow the race.
Spaghetti Dinner! — A spaghetti dinner will be held from 5 to 7pm.
Lantern-lit Cross-country Ski or Snowshoe Trek — 6:30pm.
Torch Light Parade and Fireworks! — Dinner will be followed by the Torch Light Parade and the grand finale, a spectacular fireworks display.
Come up for the festival and stay for the 42 alpine ski runs, 42 kilometers of cross-country ski trails, snowshoeing opportunities along Lake Superior and the serenity of the Porcupine Mountains in winter.
